Dr Anna Alisi graduated in Biological Sciences in 1998 at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, where also she received his Ph.D. in Cell and Developmental Biology in 2002 and a Master in Bioinformatics in 2003. From 2002 to 2007 she worked in the laboratory of Professor Clara Balsano at the Fondazione Andrea Cesalpino. From 2007 to she collaborate with Professor Valerio Nobili, Head of the Clinic Unit of Hepato-Metabolic Diseases at the IRCCS of “Bambino Gesù” Children's Hospital", as group leader of a Translational Liver Research Unit. From 2018 Head of Research Unit of Molecular Genetics of Complex Phenotypes at the IRCCS of “Bambino Gesù” Children's Hospital. Fom the beginning, Dr. Alisi has dedicated its activities research in the field of Hepatology investigating at 360 degrees the mechanisms regulating proliferation and apoptosis during liver regeneration and oncogenesis, and more recentlythe molecular and cellular pathogenesis of hepato-metabolic diseases (NAFLD and NASH) and their progression (fibrosis and hepatocellular carcinoma). Dr. Alisi was able to integrate his knowledge on the liver pathophysiology with the clinical aspects of hepatology creating a line of highly original research that can translate the results obtained in experimental models at the bedside by identifying new potential biomarkers and diagnostic predictors of the progression of organ damage. Her contribution to research in the field of hepatology is underlined by the wide scientific production which currently lists 251 publications in indexed and impacted journals and 7 Book Chapters . Anna has received several awards during her scientific career and one recent AIRC grant. She work also as : Reviewer of several scientific journals such as Nature Reviews Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Gastroenterology , Hepatology, Journal of Hepatology, Nature Medicine, Journal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, PLoS ONE (also as Academic Editor), etc.; and as referee of national and international projects. Didactical activity of Dr. Alisi is documented by the tutoring of several graduate, PhD and Post-Doctoral students.
