Bio

I investigate the role of follicular regulatory T cells in HIV/SIV infections. This newly identified population may inhibit effector cell function, specifically by preventing effective cytotoxic lymphocyte killing of HIV-infected cells and by inhibiting germinal center T helper/ B cell interactions crucial for specific antibody responses. Understanding regulatory T cell function in the follicles and germinal centers may help clear HIV infection and eliminate viral reservoirs.
