Christopher Ward received the B.Eng. degree in mechanical engineering from University of Liverpool, UK, in 2003, and the Ph.D. degree in automotive engineering from University of Liverpool, UK, in 2009. He is a Senior Lecturer with the Wolfson School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering and the Head of the Control Systems Group, Loughborough University, Loughborough, U.K. His current research work is concentrated on control and fault detection in railway vehicle-based problems, particularly focusing on the critical wheel/rail contact area. He is a Chartered Engineer. Dr. Ward is a Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
