D. Lomidze

David Lomidze was the DP05 Project Manager with SQS. During the tenure with the Technological Institute of Georgia, he was a member of the scientific council and contributed to the establishment of master’s degree course with the High Energy Physics School as well as the development of the hadron therapy megaproject. In addition, he was a Research Associate with the Institute of Experimental Physics, University of Hamburg, Germany, where he was involved in the development of analog hadron calorimeter (AHCAL) for the international linear detector (ILD), CALICE collaboration, and studies of neutron irradiation effects on SiPMs. Prior to this, he was with Johannes Gutenberg Universität Mainz, Germany, where he developed the Muon Veto Detector (MUV) for the NA62 experiment at CERN. He was also a Scientific Researcher with the University of Wisconsin–Madison, Madison, WI, USA, and contributed to the RPC system offline data quality monitoring development. He is currently a Detector Scientist with European XFEL, where he is responsible expert for the DSSC detector operation with SCS and SQS instruments. He is a highly experienced physicist with more than 17 years of research and development experience in experimental particle physics. He spend significant amount of the career with the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare, Naples, Italy. In Naples, he held several scientific researcher positions, he contributed to the development and commissioning of RPC detectors for the CMS experiment with LHC, CERN. This included the development of test setups for high and low voltage power supplies of the RPC detectors, as well as the development of detector commissioning tools and the online data quality monitoring (DQM) tool for the RPC detector subsystem.
