Bio
Farah Fahim (Member, IEEE) received the M.Tech. degree from the University of Limerick, Ireland, in 2011, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Northwestern University, in 2019.
She joined the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory in 2009, specializing in mixed signal application specific integrated circuit design. She is currently the Division Head of the Microelectronics in the Emerging Technologies Directorate and an Adjunct Professor with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Northwestern University. For over 15 years, she has been developing low noise, high-speed readout, and control electronics for detectors, which operate in harsh environments, such as high ionizing radiation for a wide range of applications. From 2005 to 2009, she was with the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, U.K. She was awarded four patents and has coauthored more than 40 publications.
Dr. Fahim was a recipient of the DOE Early Career Research Award. She has co-organized the first workshop on Cryogenic Electronics for Quantum Systems (IceQubes) in 2019, and the IEEE Quantum Week in 2020, 2021, and 2022.
