Fereidoun Abtin

Feridoun Abtin received the Medical degree and completed the radiology residency from Kasturba Medical College Manipal, Manipal, India. He was a Faculty Member with University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), Los Angeles, CA, USA. He is currently a Tenured Professor in thoracic interventional radiology with an interest in thoracic oncologic intervention. He is known internationally as an Expert in minimally invasive treatment of lung cancer, mesothelioma, and thymoma. He has developed a variety of new and innovative treatments for these diseases, as a Prolific Researcher, and is currently a Principle Investigator on multiple clinical trials in this field. He is well versed in lung biopsy and thermal ablation of primary and metastatic pulmonary tumors. He utilizes radiofrequency ablation, microwave ablation, and cryoablation of thoracic tumors. He subsequently was the recipient of the fellowship training in thoracic imaging from UCLA.
