Hilton Abílio Gründling (Member, IEEE) received the B.Sc. degree in electronics engineering from the Pontifical University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS), Porto Alegre, Brazil, the M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), and the Ph.D. degree in electronic and computer engineering from the Technological Institute of Aeronautics (ITA), São Pao Paulo, Brazil, in 1977, 1980, and 1995, respectively. From 1980 to 2016, he worked as a Titular Professor with the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM), Santa Maria, Brazil. Since 2017, he is a Full Professor with UFSM Campus Cachoeira do Sul (UFSM-CS), Cachoeira do Sul - RS, Brazil. Furthermore, he is a Researcher with Grupo de Eletrônica de Potêncentia e Controle (GEPOC), UFSM. His main research interests include electronic automation of electrical and industrial processes, acting mainly on discrete-time robust adaptive controllers and energy efficiency.
