个人简介
Igor Pogorelsky received the Ph.D. degree in physics from P.N. Lebedev Physics Institute, Moscow, Russia, in 1979.
Before joining Brookhaven National Laboratory, Upton, NY, in 1990, he worked on the development of high-power $\hbox{CO}_{2}$ lasers and their industrial applications. At Brookhaven, he leads the development of a picosecond $\hbox{CO}_{2}$ laser system at the Accelerator Test Facility (ATF) and its application for advanced accelerator and radiation source research. Other than this period, he made a key contribution to the success of a number of ATF user's experiments, including inverse Cherenkov laser acceleration, first staged IFEL accelerator, nonlinear Thomson scattering, and ion acceleration.
