Ioanel C Sinescu

Dr. GÎNGU CONSTANTIN VIRGIL is Associate Professor of the “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy, General Medicine Faculty, 3rd Department, Fundeni Urological Surgery Discipline and has PhD in Medical Sciences since 2009. His PhD Thesis is entitled: “The prognostic significance of venous extension in renal cell carcinoma” at “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy, sustained in 2009, under supervision of Academician I. SINESCU. The main skills and expertise are in: Genitourinary Oncology and Reconstructive Surgery (renal carcinoma, bladder and prostate carcinoma, urethral and penile carcinoma) and Renal Transplantation. International Experience. He obtained degrees in Laparoscopic Surgery (2002, Rome), Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgery (2009, 2013, London), Kidney Transplantation (2014, Turkey) and Laparoscopic Urologic Surgery (2015, France). He was awarded with: “Best Poster Presentation” – EAU 7th CEM in Zagreb, 2011; “Second Karl Storz Prize” EAU 11th CEM and Award of Davos ESU Master Class – European Urology Forum – Challenge the experts, Davos, Switzerland, 2013. Referring to the scientific research activity, he was Project Director in 3 POSDRU Projects and National Grants, Research Team Member in 3 National Grants, Coordinator of Renal Transplant Trainers in one POSDRU Project, Principal Investigator in 3 clinical studies and Subinvestigator in another 3 clinical studies. He published 9 monographs, 13 ISI articles, 29 State of the art lectures, 64 national CNCSIS recognized articles and 82 papers presented in international congresses and published in ISI journals. He is Executive Editor of the Romanian Urology Journal (2009) and member of the Scientific Council of the Journal of Mind and Medical Science. He is member of the Romanian Association of Urology (1996), of the European Association of Urology (EAU, 1999) and member of the American Association of Urology (AUA, 2012).
