1- Iron homeostasis dysregulations in neurodegeneration
2- Inflammation in neurodegenerative diseases
3- Genetics of neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Hereditary Motor and Sensory Neuropathies, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, Frontotemporal Dementia, Spinal Bulbar Muscular Atrophy, Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders.
4- HIV and inflammation
5 - Effect of phytoestrogens and endocrine disrupters on adipose tissue metabolism and iron metabolism in the liver and adipose tissue.
Clinical activity:
Development and validation of immunological (ELISA, RIA, WB) and molecular methods (PCR, RT-PCR, Real-Time PCR, Sanger sequencing, dHPLC, Next Generation Sequencing)
