José Manuel Soria

PhD in Biology 1995, leads the Genomics of Complex Diseases, a research group that have competitive funding since year 2000, focused in cardiovascular diseases. Author of 125 papers in journals with IF. Director of 9 doctoral theses (4 ongoing). The emblematic project of the group is the GAIT Project (Genetic Analysis of Idiopathic Thrombophilia). Now Dr. Soria also drive a research line to elucidate the genetic relation between cancer and thrombosis. He is also PI in projects to investigate gene expression in the adaptation to the Physical effort, including the SHERPA Project, about gene expression under conditions of extreme height and hypoxia. A relevant work of Dr. Soria has been the development of ThromboinCode (TiC) a diagnostic tool, in collaboration with the companies Gendiag.exe and Ferrer inCode. TiC is a patented DNA chip incorporating an algorithm to stimate the risk of thrombosis, taking into account clinical and genetic data. Dr. Soria is inventor in 6 patents.
