My research interest in Diabetes started whilst I was a medical student and has continued ever since. My current research interests include complex interventions for patients with diabetes. I’m involved in interventions to examine the best way in which to deliver education to different patient groups, for example those with hypoglycaemia unawareness, or young people, and how best to integrate technology, e.g., the use of insulin pumps, physical activity monitors etc. Current projects: • Investigating ways of how best to deliver structured education in diabetes • Exploring the role of technological advances in the treatment of diabetes • Examining the effects of low blood glucose on the electrical activity of the heart.
