My lab focuses on 3 related research themes:
1) The neuroplasticity mechanisms supporting motor learning and control
2) The impact of interventions (e.g., acute exercise, non-invasive brain stimulation) on neuroplasticity mechanisms and motor learning
3) Testing interventions to improve motor function after stroke and neurodegenerative conditions with knowledge from themes 1) and 2).
We primarily use transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) to measure and modulate neuroplasticity mechanisms.
