Dr. Khoury has authored more than 330 publications, in addition to textbooks and numerous book chapters. He has received multiple awards for teaching, mentorship, research and clinical achievements.

Dr. Khoury has lectured extensively at various venues and conferences across the United States and the world, in addition to having organized multiple successful international and regional medical educational conferences.

He is an active member of the College of American Pathologists, where he served as chair of the cancer committee, which publishes the organization's widely utilized protocols for cancer reporting.

Dr. Khoury serves as chair of the standing editorial board of the World Health Organization Classification of Tumours and has contributed significantly to the fifth edition of the classification of hematolymphoid neoplasms.

Prior to joining UNMC, Dr. Khoury served as professor in the Division of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
