Research interests: vascular biology, cardiology, non-coding RNAs
In Munich he is a Principal Investigator of a Research Group embedded in the German Center for Cardiovascular Research (DZHK). He further takes part in EU consortia (Taxinomisis, EU Horizon 2020), a Collaborative Research Center (CRC1123) of the German Research Council (DFG) entitled ‘Atherosclerosis - Mechanisms and Networks of Novel Therapeutic Targets’, and Digimed Bavaria, a precision medicine approach that aims at optimizing the treatment of patients with carotid artery disease and ischemic forms of stroke.
