She is a renowned national leader and recognised international expert in vascular health with particular expertise in ACE2, a marker of endothelial dysfunction and the receptor for COVID-19. She is involved in several collaborative clinical research studies that involve patients with cardiovascular disease, lung disease, dementia and brain injury. Her work is funded through the Heart Foundation, the MRFF and the NHMRC.
She was awarded the Paul Korner Medal for services to the hypertension field by the High Blood Pressure Research Council of Australia in 2019. She sits on a number of international Editorial Boards, is the past Vice-President and Treasurer of the International Society of Hypertension
