I’m a research fellow at the Roslin Institute working on two projects at the moment. One is "New Tools for reducing the inbreeding rates in pedigree dog breeds" and the second is called "Sitka Spruced". I completed BS in Animal Science and MS in Genetics and Animal Breeding at the Faculty of Agriculture University of Zagreb, Croatia, where I started my PhD in Agricultural Sciences which I finished in collaboration with professor Peter Dovc from Biotechnical faculty, University of Ljubljana. During my PhD I worked at the same Faculty as an external associate at the Department of Fisheries, Apiculture, Wildlife management and special Zoology working mainly on topics related to beekeeping and cynology. Afterwords, for three years, I was a PhD student scholar at the Department of Animal Science, Biotechnical Faculty, University of Ljubljana in Slovenia focusing on canine population genetics. After my return to Croatia I focused on finishing my PhD and worked as an Assistant at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Zagreb. I’m absolutely in love with dogs and I have a six years old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel female called Wendy.
