I am a health services researcher, specialising in health professions education and wellbeing, who is motivated by work that makes a clear difference to healthcare processes and outcomes. My research focusses on education and workforce topics, such as the work and wellbeing of health professionals during early clinical practice, the role of workplace-based feedback conversations to change organisational culture and the experiences of prescribing by doctors-in-training. I enjoy supporting healthcare practitioners to engage in scholarship, and much of my work life is spent supporting postgraduate students and healthcare professionals to undertake research, scholarship or evaluation projects. Alongside my work at the University of Exeter, I am Deputy Editor for the journal Medical Education and Visiting Professor at Queen's University Belfast. My work in this area has been recognised through various awards, such as President's Medal winner 2022 for the Association for the Study of Medical Education, Honorary Fellow of the Academy of Medical Educators, Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and National Teaching Fellow.
