Michele Maffia

Michele Maffia received the M.S. degree in biological sciences from the University of Lecce, Lecce, Italy, in 1984, and the Ph.D. degree in phisiology from the University of Naples, Naples, Italy, in 1989. He is an Associate Professor of Physiology at the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences and Technologies, University of Salento, Lecce, Italy. His main research interests include proteomic applications in oncological, cardiovascular, and neurodegenerative diseases; dismetabolisms of micronutrients and essential metals and their relationship with neurodegenerative and oncological diseases. Since 2008, he has been the Director of the Laboratory of Clinical Proteomics at “Vito Fazzi” Hospital, Lecce.
