Mieke Van Bockstal

Mieke R. Van Bockstal works as a histopathologist in the University Clinics St-Luc in Brussels, Belgium. She pursues halftime postdoctoral research at the Universite Catholique de Louvain (UCL), Brussels, Belgium. Mieke performed her residency in pathology at the Department of Pathology, University Hospital Ghent, Belgium. After her residency, she worked as a fellow at the Department of Pathology, Erasmus Medical Center, Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Her main interest is breast cancer research, with an emphasis on prognostic markers for ductal carcinoma in situ, as well as the role of the peritumoural microenvironment in breast cancer progression.
