Since 2007, Prof Fallon has generated over €15 million of funding as Principal Investigator supporting research programmes on inflammatory diseases, clinical immunology and infections (helminths and COVID-19). The main diseases addressed are fibrotic disorders, allergic lung and skin inflammation, inflammatory bowel disease and haemophilia. The research on inflammatory diseases is across the human lifespan; from studies on skin diseases in infants, asthma in adults to the metabolic syndrome in the elderly.
