I am a senior researcher at the Institute of Marine Biology, Biotechnology and Aquaculture of the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research. My research interest is fish diseases and aquaculture. I mostly work with diseases affecting marine aquaculture fish and the past years I am particularly interested in the use of alternative treatments in aquaculture with emphasis on bacteriophages. I am involved in various national and international research projects either as coordinator or main investigator. I have a degree in Aquaculture and Fisheries from the Technological Educational Institute of Messolonghi, Greece (1995), MSc in Aquatic Pathobiology, Institute of Aquaculture, University of Stirling, Scotland (1997) and a PhD in Biology, University of Patras, Greece. I have worked as a post-doc researcher at the Institute of Aquaculture of HCMR (2004-2008) and since 2008 I hold a tenured research position in the same Institute.
