Professor Raymond Chan RN, PhD, GAICD, FACN, FAAN is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research). Prof Chan is an internationally recognised expert in cancer care, systems and policy. He has attracted a total of over $39.5 million (AUD) of research support (>20 Million as Chief Investigator A). He is a Chief Investigator for >17 NHMRC/MRFF project grants. He has published >240 peer-reviewed articles.

His contribution to health through clinical practice, education and research was recognised with his appointment as Fellow of the Royal College of Nursing Australia (FRCNA) in 2009. He is a Past President of the Cancer Nurses Society of Australia. In June 2021, he was inducted into Sigma International Researcher Hall of Fame.
