Annan Reginald

I am Associate Professor of Public Health Nutrition, Researcher, and Coordinator of the Human Nutrition and Dietetics program. at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana. I have extensive technical knowledge, skills and competency in key nutrition-specific and sensitive areas, and implementing nutrition research and interventions across the life stages. I have successfully served as Principal Investigator for several international-funded projects, including research funded by the International Development Research Centre, the UK Department for International Health (DfID), Nestle Foundation funded Adolescent Nutrition and Birth Outcomes (ANBOG) Study, and several collaborative projects with the University of Tokyo. I have co-authored over 100 technical reports and peered-reviewed publications. I have successfully supervised over 100 undergraduate thesis, about 50 MPhil/MSc theses, six PhD theses and 12 ongoing PhD theses. I was member of the Multi-Stakeholder Technical Committee and Evidence Reviewer for the development of Ghana’s Food-Based Dietary Guidelines, member, multi-stakeholder working group for the development of the nutrition component of Ghana’s Midterm Development Plan, member, Ghana’s Academic Platform for Scaling up Nutrition, and part of the governing body for the Ghana Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. I have consulted and served as an expert for WHO, USAID, FAO, UNICEF, IAEA, CMAM Forum and MSF on various nutrition project/programmes, and served on several expert committees and boards, including Federation of African Nutrition Societies , e-Nutrition Academy, and World Public Health Nutrition Association. I received the College of Science-KNUST Best Senior Member -Research and Grants Category in 2019.
