Mike Hoekstra worked for two decades at the Division of Foodborne, Waterborne, and Environmental Diseases , Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. He has done applied epidemiological research using mathematics ranging across probability, OR, and statistics, inter alia. Still interested in things like the interplay between topology and applied statistical models, but pragmatically more focused on asking the right question. Semi-retired.
