D. Rohan Jeyarajah

Rohan Jeyarajah, M.D., is Chair of the Department of Surgery at the Burnett School of Medicine. He is a distinguished member of Methodist Richardson Medical Center attending staff, where he serves as Director of GI Surgical Services and Director of HPB/Advanced GI Fellowship Program. He trained at the University of Chicago and participated in a liver transplant fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, after which he spent eight years in academic medicine at the UT Southwestern Medical School. He has authored more than 150 articles and book chapters and has received funding for his research in pancreatic disease. Nationally, he is the Secretary of The Americas Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association (AHPBA) and chair of the Nominating Committee of the American College of Surgeons. In addition, he serves as Chair of the Fellows Education Committee of the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract. He is the past accreditation chair and former president of the Fellowship Council as well as Governor of the American College of Surgeons. Also, he is the past chair of the Program Director’s Committee of the AHPBA and the past President of the North Texas Chapter of the ACS.
