My research focuses broadly on optimizing HIV prevention and treatment outcomes for populations most vulnerable to or disproportionately affected by HIV in Sub-Saharan Africa, including female sex workers, serodifferent couples, pregnant women, young women, and men who have sex with men. Increasingly my work utilizes implementation science frameworks and methodologies to design and evaluate implementation strategies to improve uptake and adherence to evidence-based biomedical interventions. My training is in infectious disease epidemiology and I have technical expertise in reproductive health and implementation research. I am the Director of the Center for AIDS Research (CFAR) Implementation Science Training Fellowship for early stage investigators, Director of the CFAR Implementation Science Interest Group, Co-Director of the Implementation Science Consultation Hub for the Mid-Atlantic CFAR Consortium, and a member of the Key Populations Program at the Center for Public Health and Human Rights. I am also the Co-lead of the Epidemiology group for the Novel Coronavirus Research Compendium (NCRC).
