Shanshan Yu

Shanshan Yu received the Ph.D. degree in physical chemistry from the University of Waterloo, ON, Canada, in 2007. She joined the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, CA, USA, as a Post-Doctoral Researcher, in 2008, where she became an employee in 2010. In 2017, she was funded under ROSES/PICASSO to develop a millimeter-wave chirality spectrometer for addressing the search for life planetary science objective. In 2020, she became the Manager of the Planetary Instrument Research and Technology program office under the Planetary Science Directorate’s Formula on Program office with the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. She is specialized in molecular spectroscopy focused on the composion of earth’s atmosphere, planetary atmospheres, and the interstellar medium. She was responsible for providing molecular line parameters for Aura/MLS, OCO-2, and Herschel/HIFI, providing calibra on support to OCO-2, OCO-3, and Herschel/HIFI, and analyzing Herschel/HIFI’s observations.
