Thomas Otto Whitehead

I am fascinated by the intricate links between animals and their environment, particularly how they respond to environmental variability. My PhD research focussed on the foraging ecology of macaroni and rockhopper penguins at the Prince Edward Islands using GPS, GLS and TDR loggers, and stable isotopes, to explore mechanisms of co-existence. I am currently pursuing the role of conservation storytelling in promoting empathy towards animals and ecosystems in South Africa.
