Taylor D. Sparks received the Bachelor of Science degree in materials science and engineering chemistry from The University of Utah, in 2007, the M.S. degree in materials from the University of California at Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara, in 2010, and the Ph.D. degree in applied physics from Harvard University, in 2012. Prior to graduate school, he worked at Ceramatec Inc., on advanced castable ceramic insulation for the energy sector. Following a postdoctoral appointment with the Materials Research Laboratory, University of California at Santa Barbara, from 2012 to 2013, he was appointed as an Assistant Professor in materials science and engineering with The University of Utah and later, promoted to an Associate Professor, in 2019. His research interests include materials informatics and investigating complex structure-property relationships of complex materials.
