Vijay Saxena works at the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Nephrology, Indiana University School of Medicine as Research Assistant Professor. His research involves studying innate immune response in various autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. He studied role of classical innate immune cells (DC, macrophages, NKT cells) in various autoimmune diseases and their interaction with adaptive immune cells. Currently he is focusing on the role of renal epithelial cells in shaping defense mechanism against uropathogen.
