Characterisation Of Distinct Chondrocyte Clusters That Emerge In Response To Cartilage Injury - A Single Nuclei Rna-Seq Analysis

Purpose: Articular cartilage is a highly mechano-sensitive tissue and explantation is associated with strong up-regulation of many genes. To explore the individual chondrocyte response to acute injury at early time points it was necessary to implement a method of single nuclei RNA sequencing (snRNA-seq), which could be performed on ex vivo snap frozen tissue (control) or at specified time points after injury. Here we perform a bioinformatic analysis of the molecules and pathways regulated early after cartilage injury.
