Prevalence of Chronic Urticaria and Healthcare Usage of Patients with the Condition in Primary Care: a Population-Based Study in the Netherlands.

We present a large population-based study focusing on the prevalence and healthcare usage of CU patients in primary care. The observed annual point prevalence of 0.48%-0.30% and a median follow-up duration of 1.5 years provides new reliable insight into the vastness, relatively modest healthcare usage and estimated disease duration of CU in the general population, which is useful knowledge when counseling new CU patients in both primary and specialist care settings.
