Panorama Científico Sobre a Utilização De Espécies De Plantas No Artesanato Do Brasil

O artesanato com recursos vegetais faz parte da cultura popular a nível mundial, representando uma oportunidade de geração de renda e subsistência. Assim, objetivou-se realizar o mapeamento das publicações científicas sobre o uso de espécies botânicas no artesanato brasileiro, traçando o panorama sobre a temática no intervalo de 2011 a 2022. Foi adotada a revisão bibliométrica, cujos dados foram obtidos no Portal de Periódico da Capes, Web of Science e Scopus. Foram registrados com os termos Handicraft” AND “Plants”; “Handicraft” AND “Plants” AND “Ethnobotany”; “Handicraft” AND “Plants” AND “Ethnobotany” AND “Brazil” 42 publicações científicas que após o critério de inclusão/exclusão, resultou em 18 artigos. Foi constatada pouca variação de publicações por ano, no intervalo 2011-2022. Os periódicos Economic Botany (33,33%) e Acta Botanica Brasilica (16,66%) apresentaram o maior número de publicações. Foram registradas 87 espécies distribuídas em 26 famílias, das quais Fabaceae (25,28%), Cyperaceae (14,95%) e Arecaceae (12,64%) foram as mais representativas. Os principais públicos-alvo foram artesãos tradicionais (50%), indígenas (33,32%) e associação de artesanato (5,56%). As regiões brasileiras com expressiva participação foram Norte (44,44%) e Nordeste (27,78%). O enfoque comum dos estudos foi a importância socioeconômica do artesanato como atividade mantenedora das tradições e geradora de ocupação e rendimento. Conclui-se que a flora brasileira apresenta forte potencial para uso artesanal, possibilitando a diversificação de artefatos, ao tempo que reduz as pressões sobre grupos restritos de plantas. Reafirma-se a necessidade de estudos que envolvam conservação e o fortalecimento dessa atividade na perspectiva sustentável.Palavras-chave: Artesanato, Etnobotânica, Produtos Florestais Não-Madeireiros. A bibliometric review was adopted, whose data were obtained from the CAPES Journal Portal, Web of Science and Scopus. They were registered with the terms “Handicraft” AND “Plants”; “Handicraft” AND “Plants” AND “Ethnobotany”; “Handicraft” AND “Plants” AND “Ethnobotany” AND “Brazil” 42 scientific publications that, after the inclusion/exclusion criteria, resulted in 18 scientific papers. In the period 2011-2022, there was little variation in the number of publications per year. The journals Economic Botany (33.33%) and Acta Botanica Brasilica (16.66%) had the highest number of publications. Eighty-seven species distributed in 26 families were recorded, of which Fabaceae (25.28%), Cyperaceae (14.95%) and Arecaceae (12.64%) were the most representative. The main target audiences were traditional artisans (50%), indigenous people (33.32%) and handicraft associations (5.56%). The Brazilian regions with significant contribution were the North (44.44%) and Northeast (27.78%). The common focus of the studies was the socioeconomic importance of handicrafts as an activity that maintains traditions and generates employment and income. It is concluded that the Brazilian flora has a strong potential for artisanal use, enabling the diversification of artifacts, while reducing pressures on restricted groups of plants. The need for studies involving the conservation and strengthening of this activity from a sustainable perspective is reaffirmed.Keywords: Bibliometrics, Ethnobotany, Non-Timber Forest Products.
