个人简介
JJuan Ángel Organero Gallego began his research career in 1996, by developing his doctoral thesis (defended in November 2001) in the field of UV-visible absorbance spectroscopy and steady-state fluorescence emission, as well as, time-resolved with resolution of picoseconds applied to the photophysical and photochemical study of molecular probes in solution and in confined media (cyclodextrins). He acquired extensive experience in this field. He also has extensive knowledge in the field of computational chemistry due to his stays (1997 and 1998) in the group of theoretical chemistry at the UAB, where, using ab initio quantum chemistry methods, he studied inter- and intramolecular proton transfer reactions in ground and excited states. He was awarded with a postdoctoral Fellowship of the Ministry of Education of Spain for carrying out a postdoctoral stay in the research group of Professor Villy Sundström (Lund, Sweden). In that period, he attained experimental skills in the quantum control of charge transfer reactions in dye-sensitized solar cells using pulsed lasers with femtosecond (fs) resolution, in order to improve their efficiency (Phys. Rev. Lett. 2006). Later, he focused his research on the time resolved spectroscopy (ps-fs resolution) studies of molecular probes in confined nano-structured materials (zeolites and mesoporous materials). Nowadays, he is also carrying out theoretical studies, using docking and molecular dynamics methods, in order to elucidate the molecular recognition mechanisms of drugs interacting with proteins and DNA. During those years he has also carried out intensive collaborations with researchers from various universities and research centers: Tarek al Fayed (2001) and Prof. M. Elkemary (2005-2006) from the University of Tanta (Egypt), Professor Alexander Roshal ( 2003,2007) from the University of Harkov (Ukraine), Dr. José Ferreira (2006) from the Technical University of Lisbon, Dr. S. Wang (2006) from the University of Nakai, (China), Dra. Ana Matesanz (2017) Autonomous University of Madrid, Rocío Recio (2019) University of Seville. He has been co-director of the doctoral thesis of Dª Cristina Martín Álvarez. He is the co-author of 54 papers in scientific journals indexed in the JCR and 4 book chapters from major scientific publishers.
